Comrades 2011 Entries Open

For those of you wanting to enter the Comrades Marathon for next year, entries open today September 1st and close on November 30th, or until the maximum number of runners, which is 18 000, has been reached.

I would suggest entering just in case you decide you might want to do it – or just enter and then you have to do it because you have paid 🙂

(Jo I’m speaking to you my friend!!)

    Hi Ryan

Thanks, will do. We are very excited about the whole thing. and any advice and laughs will be great 🙂

    Thanks Ryan 🙂

Alison (and hubby) – good luck. I suggest go back and read Cand’s blog from the start which was her prepping for her first comrades. It will give you a good idea of what’s ahead and help you along the way, with a laugh or 2 thrown in too. Don’t worry it’s all worth the effort. I found this blog a great reference for my run.

Well anywhere in Durban city would be fine in terms of getting to the start. I would say try and avoid staying in the outer suburbs of Ballito, Umhlanga etc – they are just a little too far out.

    Hi Cands

Thanks for the thumbs up. one silly question, you say book as close to the start as possible, what area would that be exactly?

  6. Cands says:

Hi Alison, you will not regret this decision!! Ok, maybe a few times before the race but once you have done it you will be VERY happy you decided to enter 🙂 I would say don’t stress too much about accommodation just yet, next year is from Durbs and there is more than enough places to stay. I would however say that when you DO book, try and get as close to the start as possible, to eliminate any stress around getting there.
Just start slow and build it up, give me a shout if you need any help and I’ll see what I can do 🙂
Good luck to you and your hubby!! I’m sure we will chat again soon…
