Now that really sucks! It might have been better if you did get it from running. Anyway, your attitude seems very good and positive. All the best with the recovery and comeback!

I know, I could barely believe it myself - I even thought that they'd made a mistake... I did run hard though and it goes to show what you can actually do if you just put your mind to it.

I agree about the battle being won in your head first. I didn't realise your pre half marathon training run was no more than 10km's. That does give me hope for my marathon, and the Comrades for whenever I trek that side of the globe again.

Wow! I'm really curious on the results of this race. Just a curious question, how many weeks do your mom prepare for events like these? I can imagine how exhausting yet exciting it will be.

Last 10 kays in 42 minutes? Wow, that would be an impressive feat for a sub seven-hour runner...

[awkward paragraph break]

Hi Valerie, thanks for the comment :) I take Rescue Remedy leading up to the runs and I don't see any problem in actually taking it with you or having someone stand with it along the way. And I can totally relate to having a hard time on long runs when you are in hand-to-hand combat with your mind. If you haven't already read my post on '<a href="http://www.reluctantrunner.net/running-your-mind-into-submission/" rel="nofollow">Running your mind into submission</a>'? then have a quick look and see if you will be able to do this - it works for me. If you have any questions just give me a shout :)
